The City of Cedar Falls and the University of Northern Iowa announced that the free fireworks display will be rescheduled to Wednesday, July 2 because inclement weather forced last night's delay.

The event will start at about 9:40 p.m. at the intermural fields west of the UNI Dome (2501 Hudson Road) and will air live on K92.3.

Cedar Falls Fire Rescue responded on June 26th, 2025 at 7:08 p.m. when lightning struck a house at 705 Winters Drive—fire crews found that the roof and front porch sustained significant electrical damage while no one was injured.

The Denver Cyclones played the Aplington-Parkersburg Falcons on Friday night in a high school softball game broadcast on Y99.3—pre-game began at 4:45 and first pitch took place at 5:00.
