The tractorcade took place Monday, starting with six groups leaving Bremer County Fairgrounds at 6:50 a.m. The parade traveled along the Cedar River Parkway with stops at DeGroote Farms, American Legion Post 285, and Butler County Fairgrounds, causing traffic delays in the morning and afternoon.

Debra Bickle, a 69-year-old Waterloo resident, won $2 million in the Mega Millions earlier this month after checking her ticket on the Iowa Lottery app at a local Walmart kiosk.

She retired immediately and plans to use the funds for her grandchildren’s schooling + home upgrades.

At State Soccer on Saturday, Class 1A — the Hudson Pirates beat the Denver Cyclones 4-1 in a PK shootout as Denver’s Addyson Shepard and Grace Mullihan joined the All Tournament Team.

In addition, North Polk won in Class 2A and Waukee Northwest secured the Class 3A title.

Waverly-Shell Rock softball saw the 9-5 Go-Hawks host the 10-6 Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougars Monday night on KWAY Country AM 1470 FM 96.3, with pregame starting at 7:15 and first pitch at 7:30.
