On Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., 66-year-old Kimberly Charlton called 911 after she shot her 72-year-old husband David Charlton in Cedar Falls when he chased their dog; she said he first tried to assault her and then threatened the dog before she warned him and pulled the trigger, and David died at the scene while Kimberly is held on a 1-million-dollar bond for first-degree murder.
A Waterloo man, 29-year-old Suad Kvakic, was arrested after he stabbed an acquaintance in the leg on the 2000 block of College Street around 2:00 a.m. Wednesday—he stole the victim’s phone and refused to return it even though the victim asked, then drove him to a Casey’s where a tourniquet stopped the bleeding.
