A charity collected a dozen 1-ounce gold eagles and other special coins during its Red Kettle Campaign in November and December, and will auction them soon to raise funds for its programs.

Cedar Falls Tourism announced Comic-Con will debut at Bien VenU Event Center on March 7 and 8, featuring special guests such as Charles Wright (aka The Godfather), Rodger Bumpass (voice of Squidward), and Austin St. John (the original Red Power Ranger).

The Wartburg women’s basketball team defeated Lake Forest 81-26 on Dec.
30 using Harrison to score 17 points.
Monday night, UNI’s women’s basketball team beat Valporaiso 86-52 while the men’s team won 58-48 (improving to 10-3 on the season).
