Yesterday — National Signing Day kicked off as Waterloo West’s Carson Nielson committed to Iowa, Cedar Falls’ wide receiver Will Remmert signed with UNI, and defensive lineman Jaden Ubben joined Drake — and the early signing period runs until tomorrow.

The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union released its latest basketball rankings today.

Cedar Falls is 13th in 5A while Waverly-Shell Rock moved to 6th in 4A, Denver is 3rd in 2A, and Grundy Center, Aplington-Parkersburg, Gladbrook-Reinbeck, and Dunkerton also shifted in the rankings.

Thursday, Y99.3 aired a doubleheader of high school basketball as the Dunkerton Raiders, ranked 6th in Class 1A, hosted the Springville Orioles; the girls game featured a 6:00 p.m. pregame with tip-off at 6:15 p.m. + the boys' contest followed.

Thursday night, boys wrestling aired on KWAY Country (AM 1470 FM 96.3) as the Waverly-Shell Rock Go-Hawks hosted the West Delaware Hawks at 6:30 p.m.; today, the Go-Hawk boys will begin at the Dan Gable Donnybrook at the Xtreme Arena while the girls continue their matches there.
