The Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa awarded four nonprofits a total of $395,000 in grants at its Celebration of Community event on Friday.

The awards include $50,000 for Iowa Legal Aid to set up five attorney positions and an extra $15,000 for a Black Hawk County Expungement Clinic, $50,000 for UnityPoint Health Allen Child Protection Center, $50,000 for the Bremer County Fair Capital Campaign, and $180,000 for the Family YMCA of Black Hawk County — support that helps with legal aid, child safety, and early childhood education.
