The Cedar Valley Arboretum & Botanic Garden is looking for volunteers this Saturday before holding an event to thank everyone who has helped.

St. Paul's UMC is hosting an all-you-can-eat beef and noodle dinner fundraiser on Saturday, November 8th from 4 to 6 p.m.—adults pay $12 and children 10 and younger pay $6.

A new used book store and gift shop will open November 22 in Cedar Falls.
Books are on the shelves and staff are training—further plans for merchandise are still being finalized.

Margaret Moye leads the Grout Museum District and will close the cherished Imaginarium to build a new children’s science center that will spark curiosity — a plan that honors the museum’s past.
She uses her museum experience to guide the project and bring fresh learning to the community.
The Iowa Chamber Music Collective will perform Sunday at the Hearst Center for the Arts — the group will offer chamber music that shows their precision and passion — and Cedar Falls residents can look forward to a live arts experience.
The event will provide an opportunity for the community to enjoy quality classical music.

Hoover Middle School's music department will host a can drive this Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m.—students will collect 5 cent refundable glass, plastic and aluminum containers directly from vehicles.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony is hosting a blood drive on Saturday — donors will receive a buy-one-get-one voucher for two mezzanine tickets to a concert in the 2025-26 season.

At the State Volleyball Tournament semifinals, Denver defeated Grundy Center in four-sets while Hinton ended Dike-New Hartford’s run in four-sets and in 1A, St. Ansgar beat Dunkerton in three-sets and Janesville swept North Tama in three-sets.
Championship matches take place today at 4:45 p.m. in 2A and 7 p.m. in 1A, with Denver aiming for a second title and Janesville seeking the championship.
The 8-Man State High School Football Playoffs continue tonight as Don Bosco (7-2) faces defending state champion Bishop Garrigan (10-0) and Gladbrook-Reinbeck plays Edgewood-Colesburg (both 10-0).
Quarterfinal games in 1A and Class A are scheduled to start tomorrow at 7 p.m.
Thursday night, the 7—2 Don Bosco Dons played in the 8-man State Quarterfinals on KWAY Country AM 1470 FM 96.3 as they traveled to Algona to face the undefeated Bishop Garrigan Bears with pregame at 6:30 p.m. and kickoff at 7:00 p.m.—the winning team advanced to play at the UNI-Dome.
