Black Hawk County Master Gardeners will host their annual fall garden symposium Saturday.
Residents visited Crossroads Mall on its busiest day in years as developers unveiled plans for The Blvd—a project that will take over the land after the mall is torn down.
🎭 Culture
The executive director of Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center led a guided walkthrough today to show the results of a nearly $15 million, two-year renovation and expansion.
The project improved performance spaces and backstage areas — a milestone upgrade for the center.
A sensory-friendly planetarium show will be held Saturday at the Norris Corson Family Planetarium — part of the Grout Museum District.
World-renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma will perform at 7 p.m. Sunday at Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center in Cedar Falls + his celebrated concert is expected to draw local music fans.

Hawkeye Community College's board of trustees approved seeking bids for remodeling its TechWorks facility on Tuesday + officials expect to review the bids on Nov.
25 during a public hearing with potential contract approval.
🏈 Sports
Tomorrow, high school football playoff games in seven classes will start at 7 p.m. In 5A, Waterloo West faces Dowling Catholic at Mediacom Stadium in Des Moines while Cedar Falls hosts Iowa City West with Tigers game coverage starting with a pregame show (6:30 p.m.), and other contests are set in 4A, 1A, Class A, and 8-Man football across the region.
Regional Final matches in Class 1A and 2A ended last night and set the stage for the State Volleyball Tournament tonight.
In 2A, teams including Denver, Dike-New Hartford, Grundy Center, Wapsie Valley, Dyersville-Beckman, Aplington-Parkersburg, and Iowa City Regina won their matches, while in 1A North Tama, Janesville, Dunkerton, and Gladbrook-Reinbeck were victorious.
The Mississippi Valley Conference released the Valley Division All-Conference awards in volleyball — Cedar Falls finished with a 7-0 record and earned honors when senior setter Brynn Bakula was named Player of the Year.
Coach Matt Johnson was also named Coach of the Year in the division.
