Tuesday night, 3rd ranked Pella beat Waverly Shell Rock in a Regional Final in four sets — 15-25, 25-14, 25-19, 25-12 — to advance to State, and the Go-Hawks ended their season at 20-21.

Regional Final matches in the State Volleyball Tournament are set for tonight as area teams compete in Class 2A and 1A games at venues across the region.

Defending champion Denver + Bellevue and Union-LaPorte City + Wapsie Valley are among the teams playing today.

In the 5A Regional Final, West Des Moines Valley beat the Tigers by 3 to 0 and ended Cedar Falls' season at 31 to 9+ in the 4A final, where Pella beat Waverly Shell Rock in four sets to finish 20 to 21.

Both games determined which teams would earn a berth in the State Tournament.

On Wednesday night, radio broadcasts featured regional championship volleyball matches with pre-game segments at 6:45 and first serve at 7:00.

On KWAY Country, the 12th ranked Wapsie Valley Warriors played the 6th ranked Union in Cedar Falls while on Y99.3 the top-ranked Denver Cyclones faced Bellevue—winners from these games and matches featuring Janesville, Sumner-Fredericksburg, Dunkerton and Cedar Ridge Christian advanced to the State Tournament.
