  • Kluesner Sanitation says that despite Monday being a holiday—Indigenous Peoples Day or Columbus Day—its regular trash pickup schedule will continue, and residents in Fairbank should have their garbage cans at the curb by 6:00 a.m. to ensure collection.  Y99.3

  • Yesterday, Cedar Falls’ girls cross country team finished third (with Waterloo West placing 12th) at the MVC Super Meet in Iowa City and sophomore Charlee Gall won her race in 17 minutes 54 seconds; the boys team took first (with five runners in the top 15 and Jaden Merrick coming in second).  Iowa's Corn Country
  • Iowa football airs on Y99.3 today with a pregame at 4:00 p.m. and kickoff at 6:00 p.m. — the Hawkeyes face Wisconsin this evening.  Y99.3
  • The Waverly-Shell Rock volleyball team went 1-2 at the Cedar Falls Quad on Thursday night as they lost 25-16, 25-16 to #10 Cedar Falls and 25-16, 18-25, 15-13 to Linn-Mar while beating #9 West Delaware 26-24, 24-26, 15-13 — the match aired on KWAY Country.  Y99.3
  • Friday night W-SR homecoming football aired on KWAY Country AM 1470 FM 96.3 as the 2–4 Go-Hawks hosted the 2–4 Cedar Rapids Washington Warriors—pregame began at 6:45 p.m. and kickoff occurred at 7:00 p.m.—with Roling Ford presenting the broadcast.  Y99.3
  • Last night, Cedar Falls hosted a quadrangular high school volleyball meet and beat Waverly Shell Rock and Linn-Mar in two sets while losing to West Delaware in three sets — the local team plans to build momentum in upcoming Metro events.  Iowa's Corn Country
  • Denver won the North Iowa Cedar League volleyball tournament on Thursday night on Y99.3—sweeping Gladbrook-Reinbeck 25-19 and 25-22 in the semis and defeating Dike-New Hartford 25-22, 23-25 and 15-5 in the final match.  Y99.3
  • On Friday night, the Waterloo Columbus Sailors with a record of 3 to 3 hosted the Union Knights, who had a record of 5 to 1, in a high school football game presented by Jerry Roling Motors on Y99.3—pregame started at 6:30 and kickoff was at 7:00.  Y99.3
  • Today, Wartburg homecoming football is broadcast on KWAY Country AM 1470 FM 96.3 as the 8th ranked Knights try to secure a record 30-A-R-C game-winning streak when they host the University of Dubuque; the Countdown to Kickoff Show begins at 12:30 and the game starts at 1:30.  Y99.3
