The 19th annual Pink Ribbon Run is being held today in downtown Cedar Falls—raising funds for the all-volunteer Beyond Pink TEAM to help people cover breast cancer out-of-pocket costs.

The arboretum will host Pioneer Day on October 5—an event celebrating local traditions and inviting community members to join planned activities.

Metro High School football games are on tonight with Cedar Falls playing at Bettendorf and risking its four-game winning streak—Waterloo West hosts Dallas Center-Grimes at Memorial Stadium, Waterloo East plays at Mason City for its first win, Waterloo Columbus meets Sumner-Fredericksburg in 1A District-4, and Cedar Ridge Christian hosts Central Elkader.

Yesterday, Cedar Falls won a high school boys golf triangular event at Irv Warren—finishing 13 strokes ahead of Waterloo West, which scored 152 compared to Cedar Falls' 139.

Colin Lesyshen led with a 33 while Drew Larimer and Ethan Boyle each scored 34.
