  • Cedar Falls residents can join the Mayor’s Halloween House Decorating Tour to vote for their favorite display until November 1—contest winners will receive the People’s Choice Award while Trick or Treat will be held on October 31 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. as part of Spooktober events.  City of Cedar Falls

  • Tomorrow night—area high school football teams will begin Week 6 matchups as Grundy Center, ranked number 1, hosts South Hardin, ranked number 4; Union, ranked number 6, plays at Hudson; Wapsie Valley, ranked number 7, travels to South Winneshiek; and Gladbrook-Reinbeck, ranked number 3, visits Collins-Maxwell.  Iowa's Corn Country
  • The latest rankings posted on October 2 showed area volleyball teams across several classes—Cedar Falls is 10th and Waterloo West 12th in Class 5A, Waverly-Shell Rock is 13th in Class 4A, Denver is 1st while Sumner-Fredericksburg and Wapsie Valley are 8th and 9th in Class 2A, and Janesville, Cedar Ridge Christian, and Dunkerton are 5th, 12th, and 14th in Class 1A.  Y99.3
  • Week 6 of high school football begins tomorrow night for most Metro teams while Waterloo Columbus Catholic already played its District-4 game at Sumner-Fredericksburg. Waterloo West will host Dallas Center-Grimes, Waterloo East will face Mason City, Cedar Ridge Christian will play Central Elkader, and 9th-ranked Cedar Falls will travel to Bettendorf with pregame coverage starting at 6:45 p.m. on Cruisin’ KCFI.  Iowa's Corn Country
