- ➤ Cedar Falls will hold its second annual Spooktober with workshops, film screenings, and youth programs from local centers as activities run through October, and trick-or-treat will be held on October 31 from 6:00 p.m.+8:00 p.m. Residents are urged to follow safety tips during the celebrations. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Thursday morning, Cedar Falls Public Safety responded to a call near South Prairie Lake's boat ramp after a citizen reported a partially submerged car at about 6:30—responders helped the lone driver exit safely and transported them to hospital for evaluation as the investigation remains ongoing. - ➤ A Waterloo man, 40-year-old Darion Halliburton, was convicted of kidnapping and sexually assaulting an Uber driver on Feb 10th when he threatened her with a handgun & forced her into his Dawson Street home for over three hours, & DNA and physical evidence linking him as he faces up to 35 years in prison when sentencing is scheduled.
