On Thursday, Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity held its eighth annual Sites & Bites Bus Tour in Waterloo where volunteer Nancy Taylor pointed out her work on rehabilitated homes in the Walnut neighborhood.
The tour showcased local collaborations & plans including a Homeowner Training Center set to open this fall to help families learn home maintenance skills.

The City of Cedar Falls invites qualified executive recruitment firms to submit proposals by October 3 at 4:30 p.m. to help hire a City Administrator—who will manage the recruitment process from developing a candidate profile to the candidate's final appointment.
Some area high school volleyball teams were ranked in preseason polls: in Class 2A, Denver came in first, Wapsie Valley placed 11th and Sumner-Fredericksburg ranked 12th—while in Class 1A, Janesville finished fourth, Dunkerton placed sixth and Don Bosco came in 13th.
The Wartburg football team has been picked to win the American Rivers Conference after earning 5 first place votes while Central and Coe received 3 and 1 vote respectively (the Knights are the only A-R-C team ranked #9 in the AFCA poll) and they will begin their season on September 6th against Monmouth.
