Keaton Northup, a former Waterloo police officer, pleaded not guilty to Homicide by Vehicle — Operating Under the Influence and Homicide by Vehicle — Reckless Driving charges stemming from a fatal motorcycle crash on June 1, 2024 on Interstate 380 that killed his girlfriend, Jenna Mills.

The City of Cedar Falls earned the Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association for its clear and reader-friendly report on city finances.
