GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Monday, July 28th, the City's contractor Dave Schmitt Construction will begin Phase II of the North Cedar Heights Area Reconstruction at the intersection of Timber Drive and Greenwood Avenue. Greenwood Avenue will be closed for about one month — access to Hartman Reserve Nature Center will be available via Timber Drive. City of Cedar Falls
- ➤ On Monday, July 28, a private contractor will begin underground utility work on College Street between West 21st Street and West 22nd Street in Cedar Falls—detours will be in place on West 20th, West 21st, West 22nd, Olive, and Merner; the work will take one week depending on weather and requires a full-width closure to access the watermain. - ➤ On July 24, riders from Adaptive Sports Iowa's RAGBRAI team rode into Cedar Falls as part of a 406-mile journey designed to offer Iowans with disabilities a chance to experience long-distance cycling. Legally blind cyclist George Marriott rode in tandem with his pilot while veteran Bob Molsberry used a hand-powered vehicle—both examples of the team’s growing resolve and success.
