- ➤ Cedar Falls Public Safety will host National Night Out on Tuesday, August 5 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Public Safety Center (4600 South Main Street) where community members can meet local emergency personnel, learn safe driving tips, and enjoy complimentary food and drinks. - ➤ Thursday evening on KWAY Country AM 1470 FM 96.3, the 25-10 Sumner-Fredericksburg-Tripoli Cougars played against the 15-11 Oelwein Huskies with a pre-game at 4:45 and first pitch at 5:00. Y99.3
- ➤ On Wednesday, the Cedar Falls Go-Hawks won their regular season baseball game 9-0 over Waverly-Shell Rock and finished 13-14 while they will host Webster City today at 7:00 on KWAY Country AM 1470 FM 96.3 in the Sub-State Tournament. The softball team, with a 16-8 record, hosted the 8-23 Mason City Riverhawks on Thursday—pre-game began at 6:45 and first pitch was at 7:00, with the winner set to face Fort Dodge on Saturday. Y99.3
- ➤ Regional softball on Wednesday night saw 10th ranked Beckman edge Denver 7-4 as the Cyclones fell short in the 7th inning—Janesville beat West Central 6-1 with Zoey Barnes nearly pitching a perfect game until a walk, a hit and an error gave up a run. Janesville will face Clarksville Friday at 7:00 on Y99.3 while Clarksville beat Saint Ansgar 4-1, Wapsie Valley beat Starmont 9-2 and Don Bosco crushed Lone Tree 10-3. Y99.3
