On Wednesday, May 28, 2025, Cedar Falls High School hosted a deployment ceremony where 218 Iowa Army National Guard members of the 1st Battalion, 133rd Infantry Regiment said goodbye to family and friends — the event marked their upcoming deployment.

The city announced that parking in College Hill municipal lots will be free from June 1 to July 31 — residents and visitors can park at no cost this summer.

On Friday night, May 30, the top-ranked 15-0-1 Waverly-Shell Rock Go-Hawks hosted the 10-2-4 Marion Wolves in the Class 2A Regional Championship girls soccer match aired on KWAY Country AM 1470 FM 96.3; the winning team earned a berth to State.

Last Friday the top-ranked Denver Cyclones with an 18+0+1 record hosted the Dubuque Wahlert Golden Eagles with an 11+5+1 record in the Class 1A Regional Championship Girls Soccer game on Y99.3; the pre-match began at 6:45 p.m. and kickoff was at 7:00 p.m.
