🎓 Education
The Hawkeye Community College board approved a raise for non-bargaining employees today, following its scheduled meeting.
A University of Northern Iowa professor is leading a collaborative religious studies initiative that will bring together scholars from state universities to address low enrollment and increased scrutiny in the field — the project is expected to strengthen religious education.
🏈 Sports
Waverly-Shell Rock sports had a busy schedule; the boys soccer opened Sub-State play on Wednesday evening on KWAY Country, and the softball team hosted Dike-New Hartford while Tuesday’s baseball game was suspended and will resume on June 23.
The boys tennis state meet is set for Wednesday at noon.
The Columbus girls soccer team beat West Delaware on Tuesday after a 2-2 tie in regulation and seven penalty kicks in overtime; they will face Aplington-Parkersburg today at 7:00 on KWAY Country AM 1470 FM 96.3.
