A Cedar Falls woman died Friday night in Floyd County when her 38-year-old box truck failed to stop at Highway 14 around 8:10 p.m. and struck a Jeep Trail Hawk — ejecting her from the vehicle while the Jeep’s driver sustained minor injuries.

On Sunday night, Black Hawk County deputies answered a standoff in Dunkerton on Williams Street near the Dunkerton Library where 74-year-old James Parizek, armed with a gun, allegedly made threats around 6:45 and after evacuating nearby residents and negotiating for five hours—he left on his own and was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

On Monday night, the 1-13 Columbus Sailors traveled to face the 1-11-2 West Delaware Hawks in the Class 1A Regional Girls Soccer match on Y99.3 & pre-match began at 6:45 with kickoff at 7:00.

The winner will face Denver on Wednesday & set the stage for the next round.
