- ➤ The Sumner Family Aquatic Center will open on Saturday, May 23, with hours from noon to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday+Monday+Wednesday+Friday+Saturday. Local families are invited to enjoy the pool's new amenities. Y99.3
- ➤ VFW Post 1623 in Waterloo closed when no one filled the officer roles needed to run it; only five of over 80 members attended a meeting that forced resignations and suspension. The national organization declared the post defunct and said a new post may open if at least 25 members join. Y99.3
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ On Wednesday, the Waverly-Shell Rock boys golf team shot a 330 at Sectionals in Manchester and finished 5th, missing the top three spot needed to advance while Independence, West Delaware and Decorah move on to Districts. Y99.3
- ➤ Thursday night, the Go-Hawks hosted the Columbus Sailors in boys soccer on KWAY Country AM 1470 FM 96.3 with a pre-match at 5:15 and kickoff at 5:30. Additional Go-Hawk events were boys tennis at Ballard at 2:00 and a track meet at Mount Vernon at 4:00. Y99.3
