A man was taken into custody Tuesday after a standoff in Waterloo when police responded to a home on Wellington Street as part of a weapons investigation — the suspect refused to come out, appeared at a back door with his hand on his neck, and was hit with less-lethal rounds when he did not follow orders.

On Tuesday night, the #1 ranked Waverly-Shell Rock girls soccer team beat 15th ranked Dyersville Beckman 7-0 on KWAY Country—Anaka Ott scored 4 goals, Linde Hubbard had 2 while Abby Angell added one, which brought the team to an 11-0-1 record as they outscored opponents 71-0 this season.
