The intersection at West 23rd Street and Campus Street was closed Tuesday for phase three of the West 23rd Street Reconstruction Project and will remain closed for about 12 weeks, weather permitting, with a marked detour directing traffic.

Wartburg athletes Emerson Alberhasky and Abby Veld were recognized yesterday by the American Rivers Conference — Alberhasky was named pitcher of the week and Veld earned female field performer of the week honors.
Waverly-Shell Rock hosted the top-ranked girls soccer team in a match broadcast on KWAY Country (AM 1470, FM 96.3) Tuesday; the 4-0 Go-Hawks celebrated youth recognition with free field access, a pre-match at 5:15 and kickoff at 5:30.
