  • United Way raised more than $2 million in its fundraising campaign. The nonprofit honored donors at its annual Breakfast of Champions event.  Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier
  • Officials from the City of Cedar Falls and Cedar Falls Utilities announced the winners of the 2025 Business & Industry and Community Awards; the honorees will be celebrated at a luncheon on May 1 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Diamond Event Center—winners include Frito-Lay North America, Rice Companies, McDonald Construction & Remodeling, Patton Bar & Diner, University of Northern Iowa Nursing, LAFORGE, Pete Downs, and Dr. James A.   • The Cedar Falls RAGBRAI Committee announced that SciPlay is the presenting sponsor for the overnight stop on RAGBRAI coming on Thursday, July 24. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Today, the City of Cedar Falls launched its Adopt a Spot Program to invite residents to care for parks, green spaces, or trails by collecting litter and reporting maintenance needs. The city will provide cleaning supplies and later honor volunteers with a sign and Certificate of Appreciation — a move to support a cleaner local environment.  Y99.3
  • Cedar Falls Public Safety will host an open house on April 27 from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 4600 South Main Street where visitors will explore emergency rescue vehicles, meet public safety team members, and enjoy hot dogs, water, and chips from Fareway.  City of Cedar Falls
  • Iowa Department of Transportation Field Service Coordinator Pete Hjelmstad said on Wednesday morning that good weather has helped the Bremer Avenue Bridge replacement project stay on track (completion remains scheduled by September 1st).  Y99.3
