- ➤ Emergency crews responded to a house explosion on Sager Avenue near Becker Elementary School in Waterloo Wednesday morning—residents felt the blast across several miles and 250 lost power while officials investigated the cause. Y99.3
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Cedar Falls Public Safety warns residents of an alleged phone scam in which a caller claiming to be a police officer asserts there are active arrest warrants and demands payment or personal financial information via a kiosk—authorities say police never call to demand payment and advise residents to hang up immediately. - ➤ Starting Monday, March 31, the City's contractor PCI will begin reconstructing Main Street at the intersection of East 18th and State Street—removing and replacing pavement in phases over about three weeks—requiring intermittent lane closures with alternate traffic routes to maintain business access.
