GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The City of Cedar Falls now requires business owners to pay inspection fees before a commercial fire inspection as part of adopting the 2021 International Fire Code — owners must secure a new permit annually and update any past-due fees before operations can continue. City of Cedar Falls
- ➤ The Iowa Department of Transportation will start two projects in Black Hawk County on Monday that may slow traffic. The first project will close the inside lanes on Iowa 27/58 from Highway 20 to north of Ridgeway Avenue to replace the pavement and add a permanent median barrier until early May—another project will pave both lanes and the bridge deck of I-380 between Highway 150 and the county line with long-term lane closures and changeable message signs. - ➤ On March 26, Dave Schmitt Construction will begin Phase II of the North Cedar Heights Area Reconstruction—starting work on Timber Drive with traffic control, temporary mailboxes, mobilizing equipment and installing a temporary watermain. The contractor will then remove pavement with a full road closure that is expected to last 2 to 3 months. City of Cedar Falls
