- ➤ Monday the Waverly-Shell Rock boys track and field team won the indoor meet at Wartburg with 52 points. Nolan Johnson won the 55 meter hurdles, Rylan Peters won the long jump, and the 4x200 team of Bridges, Johnson, Peters and Stephens took the win. Y99.3
- ➤ The Iowa Print Sports Writers Association announced today the 2026 Girls All-State Basketball Teams. Local honorees include Dunkerton’s Kylee Pexa on 2nd team and Cedar Falls’ Karis Finley on 3rd team, with additional players from Clarksville, Denver, Waverly–Shell Rock, and Waterloo West also recognized. - ➤ Monday at Boys State Basketball, Ballard beat Gilbert 70-40, Carroll edged Pella 50-49, ADM topped Xavier 68-59, and Storm Lake bested Solon 68-60; in 4A, Dowling bested Dubuque Senior 63-45 while Cedar Falls defeated Urbandale 73-53. Y99.3
