Cedar Valley Makers has partnered with AFIL Veteran Resource Center to unite creativity, technical skill building & community service under one roof.
The collaboration is set to boost local access to innovative programs and support.
Cedar Falls Make-A-Wish will host a party for 7-year-old McKenna Niermeyer, who has battled leukemia since 2024 and spent her last two birthdays in the hospital.
The event will honor her journey and bring the community together.

Waverly-Shell Rock Girls State Basketball game was broadcast Tuesday morning on KWAY Country AM 1470 FM 96.3, beginning with the Roling Ford Pregame Show (featuring senior players) and tip-off occurred at 11:45 in Casey’s Center as the 7-seeded squad played Dallas Center-Grimes in the Class 4A Quarterfinals.
On Monday in college softball, Wartburg beat Alvernia University 7-0 and lost to Adrian 9-3, while in baseball Concordia Chicago topped Wartburg 9-3 and St. Mary’s beat them 14-3.
JoJo Tyynismaa was named American Rivers Conference Female Athlete of the Week for the second time.
