11), Iowa men’s basketball lost 77-70 to Maryland and the women’s team won 65-56 over Washington, reflecting a mixed outcome in the local college sports action.
On Wednesday night, Wartburg split its college basketball contest with Buena Vista as the Knights won (64–53) and the Beavers won (86–71) in games played on the road.
Tuesday night on Y99.3 the Dike–New Hartford teams swept Wapsie Valley; the girls won 43 to 41 and the boys took an 80 to 66 win, with Bailey Murphy scoring 20 for the Warriors and Briggs Boehme netting 25 in the loss.
The Go-Hawk girls basketball team beat Kee 74-44 on Wednesday, Feb.
11, making history with a school-record 19 3-pointers — junior Lizzy Frazell scored 36 points and reached 1,000 career points as part of the 1K Club.
